Company History![]() The History of HOKE: 8 Decades of Product Excellence Samuel W. Hoke began manufacturing small gas flow control valves for jeweler's torches in 1925. At the same time, he also laid the foundation for a leading global fluid control products company, HOKE Incorporated. In the early 1940s, he produced the forerunner of today's HOKE valves, masterfully crafted with the highest quality materials. Twenty years later, HOKE Inc. firmly established its leadership position with the development of the HOKE GYROLOK® Tube Fitting. To date, no other fitting manufacturer has been able to improve upon the GYROLOK patented design. Mr. Hoke prided himself on manufacturing masterfully crafted products, made with the highest quality materials. Eight decades later, this philosophy holds true. HOKE Inc. has set the industry standard for product safety, operability, durability, and reliability. HOKE products are used in many industries worldwide. Principal customers include oil and gas exploration, refining, chemical and petrochemical production, gas and electric utilities, and pulp and paper mills. The HOKE commitment to quality is evident in all aspects of our business. All materials used in HOKE products are purchased, manufactured, assembled and tested to stringent quality assurance specifications. Many of HOKE's designs conform to rigid standards set by ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers), ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials), ANSI (American National Standards Institute), TÜV (Technische Überwachungsverein) and European PED. All Hoke products are assembled and tested at its headquarters in Spartanburg, SC, an ISO 9001 certified facility. Hoke is proud to provide quality products found in applications ranging from nuclear power plants to semi conductor manufacturing. Hoke guarantees all products for one year, and offers comprehensive training and engineering support. In addition to quality and design excellence, Hoke is also recognized for its expansive, international distribution network. HOKE valve and fitting products are marketed through 150 independent stocking distributors located in major industrial centers worldwide. Distributors and customers are further supported by regional sales offices and managers in each territory. HOKE serves customers in the high-tech, energy and process markets directly through wholly-owned distribution facilities, known as HOKE Controls. HOKE Controls offices are located in Ontario, California and Spartanburg, South Carolina. HOKE global inventory and sales support is centered at Circor Instrumentation Ltd. in Harrow, England, which supplies independent distributors located throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Pacific Basin. HOKE International and HOKE GmbH, also wholly-owned distributors, serve customers in the United Kingdom and Germany. In 1998 HOKE was acquired by Circor International (NYSE CIR). HOKE is now part of Circor Instrumentation Technologies, one of four product groups within Circor International. The employees of HOKE, Inc. continue to build on S.W. Hoke’s legacy of manufacturing valves and fittings to the highest standards and specifications. |
